Best Female Artist was Melody Causton, whose song Ribbons and Letters tells of her mother’s aguish at losing touch with her brother 20 years ago.
The Pride of Cambridge Award, given to an artist that was beginning to break onto the national stage, went to folk roots family band The Willows.
Best Urban Dance Artist was Goldstar, while Motor Tapes were the winners of the Best Pop Group.
Fred’s House scooped both the audience choice award, voted for by Cambridge 105 listeners, and Best Folk Artist.
